HELPING YOU PROCURE GOODS AND SERVICES FROM INDIA, DEVELOP BUSINESS AND SELL INTO INDIA AND ADMINISTER THE PROCESS ALL ALONG THE WAY

You are used to shaking hands, putting your arm around someone's shoulder, and speaking directly to your emotions. In India all of these things take on different meanings. India Source can prepare you for the protocol that is expected in business there. How you speak and act says a lot about who you are and how you intend to do business. Make sure your body language is appropriate and assertive.

In India as in all of Asia 'Saving Face' is the most important aspect of who you are and how you relate to people. In America you would not think twice about correcting someone and informing them they were wrong. In India this is the equivalent of insulting and harming someone. You must know when to speak, how to speak, with whom to speak (age is a major factor as opposed to the West where knowledge and title stand for more).

We will prepare you BEFORE your trip and again upon your arrival on tips that will help you to be perceived as a professional and as a caring and trustworthy person. Indians are very aggressive about wanting to make money but they also have their own beliefs and ethical system. If someone is insulted they will walk away regardless of the consequences if they feel their honor is at stake.

In general you will find Indians to be warm, friendly people who are quite likeable and who are in fact much more hospitable than people in America even if they are very poor. They take great pride in the country despite it being a third world place and they will remind you that you are coming there because it offers the benefits of the less developed world, by way of less expensive labor and operating costs. We will teach you how to not get overheated or frustrated because when doing business in India it can be incredibly frustrating and sometimes hard to find someone to take responsibility and to find solutions and get things done especially when something goes wrong. It is a culture that promotes the good of the whole over the good of the individual and people are not used to ‘sticking their necks out’ and taking huge risks the way we are in America.
